Living in the Sixties

Legal-weed-is-getting-in-the-way-of-gun-rightsI have pointed this out before, but nobody listened. Let’s try this again, laws promoting medical marijuana, legalized marijuana use at the state level, gay marriage, hate speech, gay rights, OBamaCare, and abortion have nothing to do with the subject they purport to support.

The purpose of all these laws is twofold: (1) It is to alienate that portion of the population that supports a particular cause and (2) to demonstrate that the government and laws as currently constituted is somehow unfair and responsible for the inequity. The idea is to demonstrate that government cannot, will not change to make the accommodations that proponents want. Checkout the blueprint:  Minimanual_of_the_Urban_GuerrillaI got lazy and so used the lazy man’s source but Wiki will get you there.

Here it is as clear as I can make it:

The Second Amendment acknowledges the right to keep and bear arms. The ATF can enforce reasonable laws in this regard. That is brightline Supreme Court law. The Feds say you can’t smoke dope and possess guns. Changing state law does nothing to Federal law. State law allows one to smoke dope and is silent when it comes to regulating guns. The Feds make marijuana illegal and regulate guns, there is no conflict with Federal law.

The First Amendment gives believers the freedom to practice their religion. Many religions have a passing bias against mortal sin and are against it. Same sex marriage is considered to be a mortal sin which violates church teaching. The State supports mortal sin, when it comes to same sex marriage and requires that religions modify their stance to accommodate the new morality.

The same game is being played with health care. Insurers, providers and customers are all subject to either providing or paying for goods and services that goes against their beliefs. Some religions are exempt from participating in Obama Care. If the government can make that distinction why can’t it exempt all religions from participating in those phases of Obama Care that is objectionable to that religion?

The object of the game is not to solve problems but to create more and more problems, which will alienate more and more people, bringing more people to the cause. The more people alienated, the higher the frustration level, the higher the frustration level the more likely a physical confrontation. Once confrontations become more violent the government will become more oppressive, resulting in still more converts. This is the blueprint laid out in the Minimanual of the Urban Guerrilla .

Most of the leftist groups of the sixties tried their hand at using the Minimanual as a how to. None were successful. Enough time has passed that the Minimanual is sexy again and nobody remembers the failures.
