Used to be the toughest part of Christmas shopping was finding a parking space….not anymore.

PowerLine is trying to figure out why some of the Paris attackers were suicide bombers and why some were engaged in actions that appeared designed to give the actors a chance to escape. They speculate that suspects with escape and evasion plans are targeted for additional attacks.

I disagree.  I think the operational planners wrote off all of the participants in the attacks as casualties.  However, that isn’t what they told the guys carrying out the actual attack.  The west has more than enough psychopaths running around that would volunteer for a Paris type mission.  But that little extra something that makes one blow themselves up is a cultural trait more likely to be found in the middle east.

I suspect that those with escape routes or attempting escape are westerners who are willing to go on a suicidal mission, that doesn’t result in their suicide. The mixture of the two methods is likely an indication that the next round of suicide bombers will be shepherded west by western educated and appearing associates.  This may make them more difficult to detect.

Even more scary is if ISIS is willing to accept the Westerners as full partners, then the target list just got much bigger and more diverse. On the plus side, a round trip, even lip service to the idea of a round trip will require additional assets and logistics which gives law enforcement more investigative opportunities.
