This would be a stupid statement if a high school freshman that failed civics said it. It dips down to a whole new level of stupidity when espoused on national TV. That is national in its reach, not in influence. This guy is respected? By whom?

The Constitution is a blue print for limiting government authority and governing how it should be run. The Electoral College IS included in the Constitution. To not abide by its dictates would be unconstitutional.
