A civil case is one thing. This story brings to mind a cowboy I ran into about 40 years ago. He was facing Federal charges for smuggling bull semen. He was pretty much resigned to the fact that he was going to do prison time. I flashed on a scenario when he got to prison.

Inmate: “What are you in for?”

Arlo Guthrie recounts the reaction of his fellow rejects in “Alice’s Restaurant” when they found out about his littering conviction. He had it easy.

Cowboy: “Smuggling.”

Inmate: “Cool, coke, marijuana, speed?”

Cowboy: ” Ah no, bull semen.”

Inmate: “Well if its semen you want, you came to the right place!”
