The casual reader could easily mistake the reporting as two separate events. Nope, same victim, same location, same event. What changed? According to News4SA Alexis Jose Vegas is a she. KSAT 12 identifies Alexis Jose Vegas as a he.
The medical examiner has identified the victim as 19-year-old Alexis Jose Vegas….Authorities believe she was shot less than 24 hours before being found, possibly in the late night or early morning hours.

SAN ANTONIO – A 20-year-old man found fatally shot just north of downtown on July 2 has been identified.
Alexis Jose Vegas’ body was discovered by a passerby near a drainage ditch around 3:30 p.m. off the southbound lanes of U.S. Highway 281 between Basse Road and Hildebrand Avenue.

Vegas was shot to death. Police found seven spent shell casings near the body. To paraphrase Ron White, “I don’t know how many times Vegas was struck, but I do know how many times the shooter intended to hit him. That stretch of 281 transits the flood plain. It is an elevated highway. On one side is a Municiple gold course and the down range impact area for a skeet range. The other side is heavily wooded, bordered, in part, by a Municiple park. The park is notorious for late night sexual liaisons. No motive for the killing is offered. I’m gonna take a slightly wild assed guess, buyer’s remorse. One thing both news reports agree upon. There is no need to go into the sorted details, that might upset the narrative.
