Drain the swamp

The English may just be on to something here! I can see this working in the United States. Draining the swamp sounds good. Consider the slogan again. drain and swamp. Ideally, evaporation is the solution. But that is not realistic. The runoff from the swamp has to go somewhere. That means carving out drainage ditches and lagoons where the muddy waters will have less of an effect. But where to?

Power Line Blog has a posting regarding England. The British government is talking about moving various departments of government out of London. I guess the idea is to spread the misery. At the link.

An idea whose time has come

The choice of drainage lagoons, to some extent is arbitrary. If we were actually dealing with water, physics plays a role. We all know that water and shit flow downhill. However the swamp, in this case, is metaphorical. So we can put the run off anywhere. How to choose. Actually, our forefathers made it easy. Here are some suggestions.

Intercourse, Pennsylvania, located in Lancaster County at the junction of PA 340 and PA 772. Can there be a more fitting location for the headquarters of the democratic national committee (dnc)?

Blue Ball, Pennsylvania is also located in Lancaster County. It is located at the junction of US 322 and PA 23. This would seem to be a natural fit for the headquarters of the Republican National Committee, (RNC).

Nowhere, Oklahoma is an unincorporated area in Caddo County. It is located on the banks of the Fort Cobb reservoir. This could be the ideal location for Congress. Think of all that could be accomplished. “Where is Congress?” Nowhere.

It’s not all politics. An ideal location for a new FBI headquarters is in Cut and Shoot, Texas. It is located in Montgomery County, on Texas 105, just east of Conroe. Could there be a more appropriate location for such a treacherous, back stabbing, unethical organization?

You get the idea. My list is by no means exhaustive. I’m sure if you give it some thought you too can come up with some appropriate locations.
