Meet Massachusetts latest pretender to the State House. According to her biography, Brianna Wu was trained as an investigative journalist and is CEO of a video gamer company and claims expertise in technology.
Wu decided immediately after the 2016 American presidential election to run for a Congressional seat in the greater Boston area, focusing in part on privacy rights and online harassment, She will be challenging Rep. Stephen F. Lynch of the 8th District, an announcement she made on Twitter.[wikipedia.org] Wu cited opposition to U.S. President Donald Trump and failures by Congress regarding technology as reasons for shifting from game development to politics.
She just recently threw another plank on her platform as reported by http://moonbattery.com/?p=81752. It seems she is against private space travel and private exploration of the moon. Her concern is that once established on the moon visitors will have access to rocks that they could then throw at the Earth. It stands to reason, according to her, that if a rock was thrown from the moon and it impacted the Earth, it would have the impact of a nuclear device. I understand that not every member of Congress can be a rocket surgeon, but I think a minimum qualification of being able to walk and chew gum at the same time is not unreasonable.
