I have nothing against PBS. I think when it was formed there was a need; you know back when there were three TV stations in most major markets. Television has evolved and PBS remains the same. There are stations out there that do more and better wildlife programs. There have to be a half dozen DIY shows to go up against each PBS offerings. The only thing that PBS has to offer, not seen on commercial TV, is two-week fundraising orgy.

PBS/NPR has outlived their usefulness the free market has caught up and passed them. Real competition may revitalize the brand but to continue is a throwing good money after bad.   How-would-you-like-big-bird-served?

Damn it! PBS served its purpose. Now it is time to let it go. If there really is value in PBS, then let the free market pick up the slack.
