Are you going out of town for the weekend? Who is going to watch Fifi and Fido and keep them in the style to which they are accustomed? The kid next door will do it for twenty bucks. Fifi and Fido know him and they like each other; sounds like a deal. In Colorado, you just broke the law. Colorado just changed the rules, if you pat somebody to walk or care for your dogs then that person must be licensed. There used to be an exception, but that exception is gone. Below is the current law. The area in red, crossed out shows the old exception. It no longer applies. In order to qualify for the license, the primary facility of the licensee must be modified and subject to inspection by the state.

8 CCR 1202-15

“Boarding/training facility” means any firm, person, or corporation that cares for, houses, or trains pet animals in the absence of the owner, or such owner’s designee, and receives compensation for said services or correctional facility pet animal training programs regardless of compensation. A BOARDING/TRAINING FACILITY DOES NOT MEAN A FIRM, PERSON, OR CORPORATION THAT CARES FOR OR HOUSES PET ANIMALS AT THEIR PLACE OF RESIDENCE IN THE ABSENCE OF THE OWNER, OR SUCH OWNER’S DESIGNEE, AND RECEIVES COMPENSATION FOR SAID SERVICES.

It’s probably not worth the effort. One could move back to Wisconsin to care for elderly parents. Wisconsin will only dun your wages earned in the effort to pay mandatory union dues.
