Some politicians, the only legal whores across the nation, are advocating that 100% of electric generating capacity be supplied via renewable resources. They are relying heavily on the fact that voters won’t inquire about the cost. There is a place for renewable energy but not at the expense of the existing grid.

Here is a link that examines the cost for 100% wind/solar power: https: //www.manhattancontrarian.com/blog/2018-8-6-what-is-the-cost-of-getting-to-a-100-renewable-electric-grid.

Building the level of renewable generation and storage necessary to reach the state’s goals would drive up costs exponentially, from $49 per megawatt-hour of generation at 50 percent to $1,612 at 100 percent.
