Alternate Dystopian Futures

Keeping in mind an earlier posting regarding talking sex bots, followed almost immediately by this, people may be inclined to believe I have a fixation on robot sex bots. Not true! I have a keen sense of irony coupled with a wide view.

Take a trip in the way back machine. It is 1984, a fitting date, for the first Terminator movie. In a future time machines (robots) have taken over the world. They have perfected time travel and send a killer robot back in time to kill the only person that is capable of mounting an uprising against them. Okay that’s one dystopian possibility.

It was such an intriguing possibility that forty years later, robots are still making the journey, as seen in a sixth movie. Brass Pills links to a story that proposes an alternative dystopian future.

The expert, Brick Dollbanger, claims mankind is facing a threat posed by sex bots. His fear is that mistake or malicious code could cause sex bots to suddenly go berserk and kill their owners.

John Hawkins of Brass Pills blog makes some obvious observations that seem to forestall this scenario.

This reminds me of the paper saying that sex dolls should be programmed to decide whether to say “no” to sex. The obvious question is, “Why would you want to buy a sex robot that will turn you down for sex?” If you’re already being rejected by human women, why would you want to buy a machine that rejects you, too?

Similarly, this article begs a similar question. Why would Boobbot 2025 need to be made strong enough to overpower and murder a human male? Even if you get a multi-functional bot programmed to do some light cleaning, does it need to be strong enough to snap your spine with a hug when it goes all “Chucky” on you?

I would add, “What’s to keep the owner from pulling the plug?” No power, no murderous rampage. What does it say about a guy, Brick Dollbanger who spends $200,000 on sex dolls? How pathetic. He can’t score with women, so he invests in dolls. But it turns out he is afraid of his robots. Then in a final ironic twist, he is held out as an expert, worthy of belief.

I couldn’t make this shit up.

A whole blog about sex and sexbots and I didn’t say anything about tits, ass or a cute way of getting on and off.
