Teen in Search of Scholarship Funds Killed in Miami

I tried but CBS Miami and I just could not get together.  I couldn’t get the link to work. According to family members, a teen going door to door, searching for scholarship funds was killed, for no apparent reason, by an irate homeowner.

There is just so much here to play with:

MIAMI (CBSMiami) – Relatives of a 17-year-old are angry the teenager was shot and killed by a homeowner who police say was protecting her property.

The sister of the teen who died identified him as Trevon Johnson. She said he was a student at D. A. Dorsey Technical College.

“I don’t care if she have her gun license or any of that. That is way beyond the law… way beyond,” said Johnson’s cousin Nautika Harris. “He was not supposed to die like this. He had a future ahead of him. Trevon had goals… he was a funny guy, very big on education, loved learning.”

Civics, good citizenship, the golden rule, the Ten Commandments were not included in the curricula that Trevon studied.

On Thursday, police say Johnson burglarized a home south of 79th Street near I-95 — just blocks away from where he lives.

The 54-year-old woman told police her surveillance system alerted her to the break-in of her home. She said she rushed home and found the teen climbing out of a window.

“She observed a subject leaving the home through the rear,” said police Det. Dan Ferrin.

Det. Dan Ferrin includes the obligatory don’t do this at home folks, call 9-11.  9-11 was called but this grandmother, who I’m guessing was built for comfort, not speed, rushed home and beat the police response by minutes.

Miami-Dade police said there was a confrontation and shots were fired. Police said they were on scene seconds after the shooting and gave CPR to the teen. Johnson was rushed to the hospital where he was pronounced dead.

“What’s wrong with her,” asked Johnson’s sister Nisha Johnson. “She did not have to shoot him.”

“It’s no reason she should have waited until I think he walked out the yard to try to shoot him,” said Harris. “If she called the police already why would she shoot him?”

Nisha is obviously another scholar. Follow this twisted logic if you can, because the homeowner had called 911, she shouldn’t be allowed to shoot also.  It’s an either or proposition.  In order for it to be sporting, he should have been allowed a running start. The shooting could only commence once he was in the yard. There’s a song there somewhere, “Give me three steps Mister, give me three steps”.

“You have to look at it from every child’s point of view that was raised in the hood,” said Harris. “You have to understand… how he gonna get his money to have clothes to go to school? You have to look at it from his point-of-view.”

Nisha isn’t done yet and may actually be on to something here. She is making an absolute statement here, “if you be ghetto, you be a thief,” this is acceptable behavior. Think of all these BLM shooting protests, the absolute certainty that the deceased had done nothing wrong. The arrogance to challenge an armed police officer or homeowner for interfering with what is perceived to be acceptable, possibly even commendable behavior. Put in that context, the behavior on the part of that rapidly cooling piece of meat formerly known as Trevon, or Michael Brown and etc makes sense.

I ran into this mindset all the time working dope.  Working undercover I would purchase a quantity of drugs.  Once the cash hit the dope dealers pocket.  It was his money.  He earned it.  The fact that he was arrested moments later and the money was seized, as contraband was patently unfair.  I gave him money, he gave me dope, it was his money, end of story.

Armed robbery suspects didn’t complain about the arrest, or seizure of the ski mask or gun used in the robbery, but when we grabbed the money, that was just plain theft.

If you get the chance, watch the video. Nisha with a cousin singing the chorus is sincere.  Trevon is entitled to steal and victimize his neighbors.  How else would he ever make his way?

I’m back, I just scanned the Bill of Rights, the Fourteenth Amendment and the Civil Rights Bill of 1964, I can’t find a Constitutional Right real or imagined that says hood rats have a right to steal. I’d appreciate it if a hood rat can point out the enabling statute.

I can’t help noticing that a whole lot of Trevon’s and Deshawn’s are getting blown up left, right, and center.  Haven’t seen any George’s or William’s or Abraham’s suffering a similar fate.  Don’t know if it means anything.
