Lost in all the political bullshit is the fact that the Missouri State Department of Health has an ongoing investigation into violations and the lack of cooperation of staff at the clinic. It’s real simple, no cooperation, no license. Planned Parenthood calls for safe clinical abortions and then refuses to meet state standards.

It just sent its 74th patient in 10 years to the hospital earlier this month as a result from a botched abortion. That’s about a medical emergency every seven weeks. Operation Rescue noted that it was the third time in 22 days an ambulance was called to the center. Witnesses described seeing “a prone woman totally strapped in and not moving.”

Missouri’s health department is citing failed abortions, compromised patient safety and legal violations as it pressures the state’s only abortion clinic to come into compliance or lose its license.

Department of Health and Senior Services Director Randall Williams in a Wednesday statement described the issue as an “unprecedented refusal” by the St. Louis Planned Parenthood to cooperate.

The clinic’s license expires Friday. If it’s not renewed, Missouri will be the only state without any abortion facility.

The health department cited concerns including “at least one incident in which patient safety was gravely compromised” and “failed surgical abortions.”

A Judge has decided that the rule of law and regulation does not apply to abortion clinics. There is no need for Planned Parenthood to comply with regulatory and investigative efforts. It is a supreme irony that Planned Parenthood throws up the bugaboo of ” back alley abortions” as a justification for its existence. Yet, it refuses to comply with medical standards. Just like the rusty coat hanger crowd.

Apparently abortion providers are above the law and administrative rules. Rumor has it that “El Chapo” is going to base the appeal of his life sentence by claiming his drug dealing activities make him an abortion provider.
