A principal in a New York City school banned the celebration of Thanksgiving, Christmas and the Pledge of Allegiance.  The school system has now reversed course and provided an explanation for the principal’s actions.  According to the New York City School System, the principal is an idiot.  While this is a true statement it does not build confidence in the school system.  One would suspect that idiocy, on the part of this principal left an identifiable trail which apparently was ignored up until this latest calamity.

As a cop I have had some experience with excuses, some possibly more effective than others.  For your consideration:

A drunk who tried to explain that it was the blowjob rather than .18 BAC that caused him to lose control of his pickup truck and subsequently total three police cars parked behind the police station. In answer to the obvious question, he didn’t get bit the young lady was truly an artist.

The crack dealer who exclaimed, as an ounce of crack cocaine was pulled out of his pocket, “these aren’t may pants!”

Or the excuse for all time, still champion and  undefeated, is the peeping tom caught peering in a window and masturbating furiously who exclaimed when challenged.  “What’s your thing doing out?”  Looked down at a rapidly drooping penis and exclaimed,”it’s not my thing!”

I am not sure that the school system has done anything to help its cause.  Then again with expectations so low it may not have hurt anything.
