Nomination for Hero Badge

Mayor John Cranley

Cincinnati Mayor John Cranley issued a proclamation calling June 1, 2017, “Tre Day” in honor of Trepierre Hummons. Tre’s claim to fame, he killed Cincinnati Police Officer Sonny Kim. Hummons was subsequently killed in a shootout with police. Cranley says he made a mistake yeah, he got caught. Cincinnati-mayor-mistakenly-honors-cop killer.

Let’s put things into context. As a rookie police officer, during the 70’s, I remember the bolo’s (be on the look out) for various and sundry terrorists that populated the nation back then. Now retired, I do not accept his apology either in form or the spirit in which it was given. Once might be an isolated incident. But Democrats have a habit of doing such things going back over forty years.

In 1977, Joanne Chesmard aka Assata Shakur was involved in a shootout with New Jersey State Police. One officer was killed, another injured. Chesmard was convicted of murder and sentenced to life in prison. She later escaped and had been living openly in Cuba all this time. She is celebrated as a freedom fighter and revolutionary by segments of the Democratic party.

In 1982, Mumia Abu-Jamal killed a Philadelphia, police officer. He was sentenced to life in prison. Although he long ago exhausted all appeals, supporters in the Democratic party continue to agitate for his release. They recently had a court hearing in an attempt to have the sentence overturned.

Now we have Cranley doing his thing. In the finest Democratic tradition, he attempted to avoid responsibility by blaming a low-level clerk. Cincinnati, if Cranley isn’t the biggest scum bag you have ever elected to the mayor’s office, he is fully qualified to fill the position until one comes along.

Add to the mix another democratic scum bag mayor, but I repeat myself, Bill DiBlazio who took the occasion a few days ago to recognize and honor Oscar Lopez Rivera.  Who is Oscar Lopez Rivera you ask? He is a convicted murder, bomber and FALN terrorist who led a Puerto Rican cell of terrorists in the late 70’s and early 80’s. Yes, one of his bombing victims was an NYPD officer. Rivera was released by “The One” in one of his last official acts: Mayor-Bill-De-Blasio-joins-in-NYC’s-honor-to-a-Marxist-Leninist-Puerto-Rican-terrorist

I think that I now understand the resurgence in interest in Hitler, Mussolini, Stalin, Mao and Pol Pot. If one’s contemporary political heroes include Cranley, DiBlazio, and Obama, then it is relatively easy to overlook the minor faux pas committed by Hitler and company and find virtue where none is present.
