Gell-Mann Effect Strikes Again

New York City Gives United Healthcare CEO a Big Apple Welcome!

I don’t expect the MSM to know everything about everything. However, I don’t think it is too much to ask that when they don’t know, they do some research. It is not research to call some “has been” and ask, “are you an expert?” When the “has been” replies in the affirmative and renders an opinion that Rod Serling couldn’t have conceived, the research isn’t done. Well, the MSM is at it again.

Here is what one MSM has been expert had to say:

The gun may be a “Welrod” This was a disposable single shot silenced pistol. It was air dropped to resistance fighters, during WWII. If the shooter, in this case, used a Welrod, then he has access to resources unavailable to 99% of the population.

Here is the video of the shooting.https://twitter.com/i/status/1864389227598729615

Welrod WWII era silenced pistol

I’m not claiming to be a gun expert, but I think the nimrod posing as an expert is wrong about the Welrod.

My guess is that silencer dissipated the backpressure to the extent that the action wouldn’t cycle. But what do I know?

Looks like a Glock to me.

Another thing, the shooter doesn’t seem surprised that the gun didn’t cycle. Watch the video, no hesitation, just rack the slide and continue.

One expert claimed that a real “hit man” would have got closer, so the shooting distance argues for the shooter’s amateur status. A mafia hit man would have stuck the gun in the guy’s ear before pulling the trigger.

I would argue that the shooter has spent time on the range. Doesn’t make him a pro hit man. It could indicate that he isn’t from New York City, since gun ranges are few and far between.

I ran on a thousand search warrants. Guns were almost always present. I don’t know how many .44 magnum revolvers we seized. Almost always we found the gun, loaded with six rounds and a box of ammunition, usually with 38 rounds (out of 50) within. For you mathematically challenged that’s six in the gun and six rounds missing. Six rounds fired does not make one an expert with a .44 magnum. Crooks discover a .44 is damned loud! The neighbors tended to bitch when the crook stepped outside the back door and let six rounds rip.

What’s the purpose of this side story? Mafia hitmen and my dopers didn’t have the opportunity to practice. That means closer was better. The shooter in the video exhibited confidence in his shooting skills.

Hey, maybe I could be one of those nameless experts.
