Who Needs Foreign Terrorists When There Are Democrats?
Two radical lesbians, one of whom was a former democratic party organizer, were arrested on terrorism charges in Washington State. They were found on train tracks, at night, with tools and a device called a shunt. Once installed a shunt can communicate with systems on board a train and at grade crossing .
Shunts can instruct a train to stop suddenly, or not. It can instruct grade crossing gates not to operate. I suspect shunts would be able to put two opposing trains on the same track. The linked article describes the circumstances. Not stated until six paragraphs into the story is that there have been forty-one previous incidents where shunts have been used to interfere with train traffic. The arrests may be the first but the shunts are indicative of ongoing criminal/terrorist action.
Apparently the disruption of trains is part of an effort to give Washington State back to the Indians. If the Indians had any sense they would decline the offer. Too many crazy white folks. At any rate the explanation for the action was posted on an ANTIFA related website. Can’t blame this on the proud boys. At the link.
The bull daggers were booked on local charges and then turned over to the Feds. They were charged with terrorism and released on a personal bond. A personal bond on an offense that carries a potential twenty year sentence. Afterall this is Washington State…peaceful protest don’t you know.
I don’t know anything about railroad operations. I noodled around on the Internet about “shunts” and have reached some uniformed conclusions. There are several manufacturers of shunt devices. It is a specialized piece of equipment and purchases of such can be tracked. I suspect that there is probably an underground “how to” somewhere on the Internet. The articles describing the arrests make mention of copper wire and magnets. My guess is that the device that they were installing was of a place and forget variety. The intent being not to destroy a specific train, any train would do.
If that was the case, I would suspect the following. All of the devices placed (41) share common features, installation techniques and hardware. This becomes a signature for the terrorists. Given the seriousness of the offense and FBI involvement, I suspect contact DNA will have been recovered from other devices along with trace evidence such as tool marks. Such evidence will tie some of the incidents together.
It was only a matter of luck that these actions didn’t cause a derailment resulting in an explosion and fire. Such an event could have wiped out a community and resulted in hundreds of casualties. A PR bond?
