Washington (CNN)Senate Democratic Leader Harry Reid said on Sunday that FBI Director James Comey may have violated the Hatch Act, barring political activity by federal employees, through a late election season letter to Congress about the scope of the bureau’s probe of Hillary Clinton’s private email service as secretary of state.
Comey’s letter on Friday to congressional committee chairs said the FBI is reviewing newly discovered emails that might be linked to Clinton’s private server. The new emails were found several weeks ago, law enforcement officials told CNN Sunday, but the FBI did not disclose them until Friday. The timing raises questions about why the information was released just days before the election.
“I am writing to inform you that my office has determined that these actions may violate the Hatch Act,” Reid said in his letter to Comey. “Through your partisan actions, you may have broken the law.” There has been no immediate response from the FBI.
When I was a cop every once and a while I would get called down to the courthouse for a last minute court appearance. This usually happened after the defense attorney put the defendant’s mother, sister, wife girlfriend, or baby’s mama on the stand to offer an alibi. The District Attorney’s aim was to find a person who knew the individual and could testify as to the witnesses reputation for truth and veracity. The District Attorney was allowed to ask two questions: (1) Do you know so & so’s reputation for truth and veracity in the community? Answer, Yes. (2) Is that reputation good or bad? Answer, It’s bad. Done, those are the acceptable questions and answers. Ask your self can Harry Reid pass that level of scrutiny?
Faced with same questions today, I would have to say,”He’s a lying piece of shit!” I am not in court. What does it say about the MSM, given all the talking heads that would kill to be on TV, the media automatically runs to a proven liar and utterly corrupt individual like Harry Reid?
