I have pointed out, in the past, that the MSM is not a reliable source for news. The bias the media exhibits coupled with sheer incompetence pretty much renders MSM reports as just so much fantasy.
The late Michael Crichton set a standard for evaluating the MSM. He pointed out that, in most cases, people have no way to evaluate the accuracy of stories carried in the local paper. His solution, was to focus on a story about a subject where the reader had expertise. How the story fared in light of the reader’s experience dictated what kind of weight to give all other stories from that source.
Sometime in July of this year the MSM started reporting on a move to raid area 51, an Air Force base and test facility located in the middle of nowhere, Nevada. The supposition is that the U.S. government has been holding aliens (Dead or alive) and testing alien technology for years. The purpose of the raid was to expose the truth to light.

The media breathlessly reported that thousands, then hundreds of thousands, on up to millions signed up to make the raid. Believe it or not, people actually showed up to raid Area 51 and storm the gates. It wasn’t the two million people who had originally RSVP’d, but there was still a pretty good turnout of hundreds of people. During the Area 51 raid itself, the raiders lost their connections although some said they’d still be recording what happened and would upload it to YouTube later.

So what is the point? Keep in mind Crichton’s method for determining credibility. The media reported millions of raid participants, hundreds showed up. The media declared success! Now apply the formula to democratic presidential candidates or Presidential polls.
Under MSM thinking, if Comey and company are indicted, subsequently convicted and sentenced to long prison terms they will have been vindicated. Simply because they weren’t executed.
People who forget the role of a free press and news reporting are doomed to be disappointed. The first priority of the News is to sell toilet paper and tampons.
