Here is another case that appears to be a First Amendment issue but really isn’t. A Louisiana police officer was fired for posting a comment on Facebook. A second officer was fired for agreeing with the sentiment expressed.

Before I begin, I wanted to establish that I did say something nice about Alexandria Ocasio Cortez (AOC). As far as I’m concerned, those boobs are her only redeeming quality. That being said, I would never say that she deserves to be shot. That statement without any context, can be interpreted as a call for murder. Cops who advocate murder are generally frowned upon. A sentiment I support.

In another time these comments would have triggered a fifteen or thirty day suspension. But with the fascist press looking to create issues, firing is a forgone conclusion. To me the statements are neither here nor there. I would fire the officers for terminal stupidity.

Cops dumb enough to make such statements, on social media, really are too stupid to be cops. On that basis alone, they need to be fired. Don’t feel bad for them, they are ideally suited to be politicians.

What the cop should have said, is that AOC was making herself a target for assassination. By her words and actions a shooter could have a viable defense, to murder. A defendant accused of her untimely demise could use justifiable homicide or jury nullification and probably walk.
