Even Jonathan Swift couldn’t conceive of this bit of insanity. This is the fundamental problem with single minded zealots dictating to the rest of society. Liberals claim that conservatives are anti-science, then they come up with a whopper like this. The trans movement flies in the face of science, ethics, morality all to suit what is a statistically insignificant portion of the population that is suffering from severe mental disease or defect.

 A trans woman is wants to become a man. In order to accomplish this she is willing to physically mutilate an otherwise healthy body. This individual is not satisfied with adjusting the outward manifestations, hormone treatment to toughen the skin, produce facial hair, and reduce body fat. Even the next step removal of the breasts and fashioning a non-functioning penis from various bits and pieces of spare parts isn’t enough. Okay so she’ll be able to write her name in the snow, but will she be able to follow a stiff dick into places she wouldn’t take a fully equipped SWAT team? Leaving that question unanswered, she is still unsatisfied and it’s not enough. I agree, until she can get rid of the pesky X chromosome, it is all for naught.

Most psychologists/psychiatrists agree that most gender identity confusion patients outgrow their difficulties, accept their wee-wee for what it is and get on with life. Unless the gender identity issues are coupled with a desire to run away and join the freak show at the circus, surgical intervention is uncalled for and not desirable. In fact, Johns Hopkins, the hospital the pioneered gender reassignment surgery in the United States, no longer performs the procedure.

Some transsexuals persist. In one case a transsexual’s sights are set a little lower. She/He wants a hysterectomy. There is no medically necessary reason for the operation. You thought the trans crowd couldn’t get any more unreasonable when they forced bakers to bake a cake against their will, wrong. There are depths as yet undefined that are waiting to be plumbed. The trans crowd are asking physicians to ignore a standard of care that has been around since the time of Hippocrates, all to accommodate wackos who likely will be dissatisfied with the result and commit a long overdue suicide. They are asking institutions to deviate from the moral beliefs in order to accommodate a person who’s only belief is that they don’t like their pee-pee. They are asking everybody to accommodate an individual who refuses to accept physical reality, the presence of an offending chromosome.  They prefer the imaginary voice of Julie Andrews voice singing, “I’m So Pretty” or the Village People singing “Macho Man” than the cold hard voice of reality.

I reported last week that government regulations require that a man transitioning to a woman is entitled to have a PAP smear.  If the treating physician refuses to perform the procedure the physician can be fined. A PAP smear entails obtaining female tissue for testing. This guy has no female tissue just a crude recreation of non functional female genitalia. Gloria Steinem apparently lied when she told guys not to look, it wasn’t about the genitalia. It is! It is!

I admit I’m working from ignorance here. I have never compared a natural vagina with all its accouterments to an off the shelf Rube Goldberg model, constructed with spare parts. As a starting point, I assume that from the outside one resembles the other. To make the next step I have to come up with a something within my experience.  I came up with two examples. Example number one is a factory or a warehouse. From the curb they would both appear to be large buildings, with an administrative area, loading docks and lots of floor space. The second example would be a Hollywood Film Set, let’s say “Main Street”. In each example there might be a dry cleaners, a diner, a neighborhood bar, a hardware store and a corner gas station. Superficially they resemble one another.

Once you step inside you see that exterior aside, they have nothing in common. The real manufacturing plant and the real main street have the equipment installed to manufacture and deliver what the exterior promises. In the warehouse and the Hollywood Film set, once you go inside, that’s all there is, An empty space with an echo. There is no interior to deliver what the exterior promises.

Within these facts are the solution to the dilemma posed by trans advocates. On the for side is the belief that superficial surgery will indeed change the gender of an individual. On the against side is the belief that gender cannot be changed and those suffering from the syndrome are suffering from a mental disease or defect. Science says a male is comprised of two chromosomes one X and one Y, a female consists of two X chromosomes.  There additional chromosome abnormalities involving XYY, 47 XYY and YY syndromes, but all are characterized as male.

While science has ruled what is male and female, XX female, XY male, courts have not. The Gender nazis have so twisted the term that it can mean anything at any time, sometimes with the meaning changing in mid sentence. Things are so hopelessly confused it will take the Supreme Court to set the standard. A ruling for science that sex and gender are determined by genetic make up, with XX being female and XY and variants being male, the debate would be over. “Sex” change operations would be impossible as a matter of law.

That does not necessarily prohibit the procedure, it just puts it in its rightful place among the tattoo and piercing parlors. Since surgery cannot change chromosomes then any “sex change” operation becomes one of personal vanity, convenience or preference. It has nothing to do with civil rights,
