DOJ-pushes-for-implicit-bias-training-for-local-police-officers.php. This requires some translating for those of you not in the know.  Somebody in DOJ is fixing to retire.  This person was instrumental in putting together a computer based training program for the FEDS. To supplement their retirement income they are proposing that local law enforcement be required to attend the same training. Adoption of the training tool represents a multi-million dollar retirement nest egg.  It will do nothing to change the current circumstance, since crooks are not required to receive training.  It will provide a box on a checklist to show that DOJ cares and one more regulation to beat local law enforcement over the head with.

During Hurricane Katrina, Louisiana was overwhelmed. Police, fire, EMS, Red Cross, local search and rescue, guys with boats responded from Texas to help. People were perched on rooftops, stranded in parking lots on the only high ground.  Supplies, food, medical, infrastructure support were piling up in make-shift distribution points.  Nothing moved, nobody got rescued.

All of these people were acting under the banner of FEMA. Before anybody could do the job for which they volunteered, they had to first attend and pass FEMA’s mandatory four hour sexual harassment training course. FEMA Geeks had generators so that they could deliver the training, score the tests and generate the certificates (suitable for framing) when the locals did without.

The FEDS can bring tremendous resources to almost any type of event. The breakdown occurs when local expectations require that they deploy those resources in an effective efficient manner.
