Jim Tom Pinch Where Are You in Our Hour of Need?

The press has so compromised itself, possibly fatally, that unless extreme measures are taken I am not sure it can survive. The New York Times prints news unfit to print and CNN has given up any pretense of delivering news. Journalistic schools are ethical wastelands.

I have a hope that Trump can turn things around. It can begin in the White House. The United States has a history of supporting freedom of the press. I am not suggesting that anything change. The press has an obligation to report on the doings of the President and the administration. The President also has a right to reside in a safe environment. It is for that reason that reporters, columnists, and assorted pundits are put through background checks prior to joining the White House press Corps. One can be a reporter and not be admitted to the hallways of the White House. The only reason the Networks remain in place is because they have alway been there. President Trump is entirely within his right to decide that the current press corps are not people he would want in his house or airplane.

There is only one person with the journalistic integrity to re-establish journalistic standards, so sadly lacking.  He has not been heard from in a long time, pick up the phone, or a pen to jot a line or two, send an e-mail reach out to Dan Jenkins. Dan is the only person who can convince his mentor, the legendary newshound Jim Tom Pinch to take over the duties as “Dean of the White House Reporters”. Jim Tom Pinch and his paper of record “The Fort Worth Light and Shopper” will bring credibility to the news business.  It was Jim Tom Pinch who provided the moral compass to Dan Jenkins during his long career. It was Jim Tom Pinch that helped Billy Clyde Puckett find his voice when he wrote Semi-Tough.

Tell the White House get rid of CNN and the “New York Times”, there’s a new standard in town, the “Fort Worth Light and Shopper”. The hacks had better run, Jim Tom Pinch is coming to town.
