A Modest Proposal #973

Homeless, reaching his fullest potential.

San Francisco has decided to try and control free range wackos. https://www.kcra.com/article/san-francisco-to-force-treatment-on-mentally-ill-drug-users/27735181

I am of an age and from a place where wackos were institutionalized. Most times for good reason and occasionally not so good. Then liberals closed the asylums and kicked the wackos out. They were admonished to be all they could be and exercise their freedom. They did.

Self actualization in motion

The end result is a schizophrenic policy to deal with the mentally ill. Under liberal thought, the wackos are too crazy to be held responsible for their actions. At the same time, crazy as they are, they are fully capable of making informed decisions regarding treatment, medication and lifestyle choices.

We are told that to institutionalize the wackos is to violate their rights. Those rights include: shitting on the street, eating out of garbage cans, sleeping outside in all weather, and wandering about in a alcohol or drug induced fog.

There has to be a middle ground, a method or strategy not previously attempted or one that has seen success in one forum that can be applied to the homeless.

Kevin Costner figured out what eludes Liberals. The more services and freebies liberals provide to wackos, the more wackos they have to serve. Wackos are crazy, not stupid. Why stay in a community that doesn’t give them anything when they can go to a community that provides all sorts of free shit.

What a dilemma. Free shit attracts more wackos and does nothing to modify the behavior of existing wackos. Arresting them does no good. Liberals bulldozed existing mental institutions a generation ago. Putting wackos away would please the taxpayers but displease the wackos and the liberal idiots. Oh, woe what is a liberal to do?

Liberals are great at redefining terms, cowardice becomes discretion. Perversion, deviance and the utter lack of morals becomes a lifestyle choice.

Here is one more for them to try out. Institution Preserve.

The magnificent Maasai Mara National Reserve in Kenya is on the wishlist of wildlife lovers around the world. Famous for the Great Migration from July through October, when thousands of wildebeest, Thomson’s gazelle, and zebra travel between here and the Serengeti plains, this park offers some of Africa’s best wildlife viewing. The park protects the “Big Five,” and is known for its large numbers of predators such as lions, cheetahs, and leopards, while hippos and crocs thrive in the Mara River. The red-cloaked Maasai people who live in the park add a fascinating cultural component. In their language, Mara means “mottled,” perhaps for the shadows cast by shifting light through the acacia trees on the cloud-streaked horizons, making a hauntingly beautiful canvas for photographers.

Not Institution, Preserve

The solution is simple. Declare wackos a threatened species in need of protection. Find a location, a former military base is ideal. It has housing, roads, a mess hall, a PX building, medical facilities, existing infrastructure, and hopefully a high fence.

Put the word out, there is a place: free dope, free booze, free food, a roof, no cops. Showers and toilets are optional. Wackos can come and go as they please. All support activities: trash collection, litter clean up, room clean up are the responsibilities of the denizens.

No police patrol, just response to calls for service.

Just like nature preserves guided vehicle tours are available. Guests are warned to keep the hands in the vehicle and not to feed the animals.

Compare and Contrast

On the left are free range homeless in their natural setting. On the right, a lion pride in their natural setting. Can you identify the noble beast?
