I DON’T KNOW WHY I HAVE TO DO ALL THE THINKING AROUND HERE.

Every once and a while two stories appear on the same blog at the same time, that when taken together demonstrates an obvious solution. The issue is the over population of horses on BLM land. In Europe and Mexico, the slaughter horses just like cattle. Not so in the United States. The current practice of capturing and giving wild horses away isn’t working. Some intrepid volunteers are trying to deliver birth control to horse herds. But they are going about it the wrong way.

This is big. It saves the horses. It could change reality TV and send revenues and viewership through the roof. Here it is Team Condom Competition. Condoms, of a sort, are already used in horse breeding programs. To increase the challenge and spirit of competition we eliminate the squeeze chute used in AI programs. Here is how it will work:

Start with a bunch of mares in heat penned at one end of the arena. Release a group of stallions at the other end. Each team is given a rope, halter, and three-foot long condom. The object is to chase down a stallion in the open arena and equip him with a condom. The fastest team wins.

I can hear the announcers now!

Announcer #1: “Next up is team My Friend Flicka.,”

Announcer #2: During their last outing, you might remember, “Team Flicka” did not score. The horse they chose,”Homewrecker” got confused and well…”

Announcer #1: This is a family show, suffice it to say that video is regularly featured in Boystown, Laredo at 6,8,10 PM.

Until all the production details are worked out, the powers that be might want to talk to a bear in the Pyrenees.
