Grocery Shopping Was Never Like This Before …

Yesterday, purely on a whim I decided to go out and buy a goose for Sunday dinner. As far as I know I have never been served goose. I have never prepared it. Once or twice a year I’ll hesitate over the freezer case at the HEB. That is where you will find the goose, nestled in amongst the turkeys, flanked by the ducks. They are always there. Until yesterday. There was nary a frozen goose to be found. I checked four different HEB’s.

I told the meat cutter at the HEB at 1604, that I wanted a goose. he told me, “He got off in two hours.”

His counterpart at HEB Stone Oak couldn’t give me a goose, but he did offer me a reach around.

I didn’t get the bird, but my dating prospects are looking up.
