This is a copy of the print edition of the San Antonio Express News. We are fortunate that we have the Express News in San Antonio. Never once in the forty years, that I have been reading it, have they ever claimed that they should to be taken seriously. They know their place at the Express News. On any given day the Express can whip any of the weekly shopper papers and yet never challenge serious journalism like the “National Enquirer”, “Star, or the “Hollywood Reporter”.

Their latest gimmick is to devote half of the front page to a half advertizing insert (1) once that is peeled away you get the rea front page (2). This should tell the reader everything they need to know about the editorial standards of the newspaper.

The priorities of the San Antonio Express News are clear. The first, foremost and always priority is to sell toilet paper and tampons. The second is provide enough fluff in between so that the advertisements don’t get too crowded.

If you have a puppy that needs training or a canary that needs bedding the Express News is there.
