Sometimes the Story is What Isn’t Printed

I’ve mentioned the Gell-Mann Amnesia Effect. That is where the reader sees a story in the MSM. Based on the reader’s experience, the story is false. Despite this experience, the reader uncritically accepts other stories as true. I have come across a variation of the theme. Hurricane Ida caused flooding in New York City. As the picture shows the surf was up in the New York City subway. The headline in the New York Post identifies seven killed as a result of the flooding.

New York subway floods, hurricane IDA

This leads me to ask, “what about the rats?” Countless articles have documented that there are millions of rats in the New York subway system. It would stand to reason that the recent flooding would result in thousands and thousands of rat carcusses. Apparently that didn’t happen. Not a peep from the MSM.

The New York subway is home to millions of rats.

That leads me to consider two possibilities:

  • The alligators in the subway system ate all the dead rats.
  • Rats are smarter than New Yorkers.

Two words: DeBlasio and Cuomo. I’m going with rats being smarter than democrats.

I have no sympathy for liberals they deserve to reap the benefits of the disasters they create.
