BOZO The ClOWN found dead in Boston. Frank Avruch portrayed BOZO on Boston TV. Unlike our current crop of politicians, pundits, and near do wells, Frank Avruch has nothing to be ashamed of if they put; “He was a clown” on his tombstone.

I was in the audience for one show in 1960-61. BOZO was franchised. This meant that local TV stations could buy the rights to the character, set and whatever support may be offered. They then supplied the character for the local market and other content, cartoons, sketches and costumes. Mr. Avruch wasn’t the first BOZO but he had a good long run.
