The City of San Antonio has an image problem. Most people know that Houston is the largest city in Texas. But asked to name the second largest city, chances are they would answer Dallas or Austin. They would be wrong by a substantial margin. The second largest city in Texas is San Antonio. San Antonio just doesn’t get the respect it deserves.
Such bias even carries over to the fake monolith fad. First there was the monolith in Utah. This was followed by the discovery of one in Piatra Neamt, Romania. Go ahead try and pronounce it. Extra points if you can find Piatra Neamt on a map. Nevertheless, both places got polished metal edifices. Both monoliths were placed at locations with a dramatic backdrop.
What did San Antonio get? A plywood monolith spray painted silver, in an industrial park… cheap pricks. San Antonio gets no respect.
