I am not sure that this story, out of Latvia is particularly newsworthy. I guess the writer felt it falls in that class of stories called “man bites dog”  Man Taken Hostage by Beaver, I don’t see it.  I’ve got a cousin that’s been held hostage under similar circumstances for close to forty years. Never made the paper.

Never underestimate the power of the beaver.
