How the Turkey Trot Came About

This story is from Randolph, Massachusetts. Once again, Massholes find themselves confused and confounded by wild turkeys.  http://www.cbsnews.com/news/bizarre-scene-caught-on-video-wild-turkeys-circle-dead-cat/.

The short video shows a flock of turkeys pacing around the body of a dead cat lying in the middle of the road. You can imagine the speculation, satanic ritual, and hoping to raise the dead are two of the more popular.

I suspect that a domestic cat does not represent muh of a threat to an adult wild turkey. The cat may occasionally snatch a poult that wanders too far from mom. Apparently, it is not unusual for turkeys to gather as a flock to inspect potential predators. Add the many videos from Massachusetts that shows turkeys attacking people, and I think the answer is there.

The flock has gathered and are circling the dead cat as an act of defiance and partly to demonstrate to the entire flock that this particular cat no longer represents a threat to flock anymore.

Course, I could be full of shit.
