The New York Post headline says it all! Not Quite. Remember the goal of the news media is to sell tampons and toilet paper.

But don’t plan on smoking weed to ward off the illness.

You have to read to the very last paragraph to find the gotcha.

“The benefit for preventing viral infection of cells must come from cannabinoid acids, which are heat sensitive and must not be smoked, or it would convert them to CBD and so forth,” van Breemen said. “So that wouldn’t work for the antiviral effect.”

Smoking dope destroys the beneficial compounds. I’m guess gummies, brownies and butter also destroy the compounds.

Two can play the pseudo-science game. How about a statistical comparison of the Chinese flu rates between states that allow legalized marijuana and those that prohibit marijuana use? It would be meaningless but would make a great headline.
