According to Power Line Blog, the University of Washington has implemented a new form for students to use in reporting gender.  It was apparently ignored prompting a follow up e-mail to students requesting that they read and follow instructions.  Students were also requested not to copy or forward the e-mail. Especially helpful is the attached “Working Glossary of Terms”.  

My first reaction would be to check all the boxes since gender is about self identification, without basis in fact, there can be no right or wrong answer.  To refuse to answer or answer with terms that the school disapproves of would be some type of violation that eventually would bite the recalcitrant in the ass.  

Just for giggles take a look at the college catalog.  It does not follow the gender use rules that the college is requiring of its students.
