Recently, Sweden dropped a single bomb on a forest fire in an effort to suppress the fire. This sounded like such a good idea there is a proposal to use the B-1 to drop multiple bombs on the California wildfires. After all, if one bomb is good a whole shitload has got to be better.

I think the idea deserves some serious consideration. My only objection is why impose limits? Over seventy people were shot in Chicago this past weekend. The Air Force has B-52’s sitting on the apron not doing anything. An arclight strike on Chicago might be just the thing to effect social change. In addition to suppressing crime, the strike would usher in a new era of urban renewal.

Can’t you hear the wailing as the local politicians agonize over the choice; constituents or the opportunity to steal millions during the urban renewal efforts?
