Pelosi commits felony during State of the Union Address, democrats cheer. Law only applies to little people and conservatives.
Nancy Pelosi tore up President Trump’s State of The Union Address. She did this on TV in front of millions of witnesses. Democrats applauded her actions, after the speech. We again are faced with the conundrum. Is it arrogance or stupidity that drives democrats?
Power Line got me to do some research. The United States Constitution mandates that the President shall make a report to Congress.
[The President] shall from time to time give to the Congress Information of the State of the Union….

History shows that the report is just that a written document. Sometimes it was delivered by the President, sometimes by the President’s clerks. With the advent of radio, then TV, every President since Franklin D Roosevelt has orally delivered the contents of the report.
Although it is not a requirement, there was an expectation that the president would deliver the message orally (as was done by Washington and John Adams). Thomas Jefferson thought the practice too royal and refused to do so personally; he had clerks read it to Congress. Woodrow Wilson revived the oral tradition in 1913, a practice that every president since Franklin D. Roosevelt has followed.
Watch the video of the SOTU. As he approaches the podium, President Trump hands both Pelosi and Vice President Spence a bound copy of the SOTU report.
I admit that I am guessing, but I think it is a fair guess. Each of those copies are likely unique to the individual. One is addressed to The Vice President and the other to the Speaker of the House. President Trump delivered an official government report, that he was required to make, to the officials designated to receive it. The SOTU may have been handed out like confetti so there are many copies. Many of the recipients may have trashed their copy. That does not absolve the Speaker from her obligation to keep and preserve her copy.
Go to the National Archives and look up past SOTU reports. How were they addressed? What was the stated origin of the copy?
I believe that what I witnessed last night was Nancy Pelosi committing a violation of 18 U.S. Code Sec, 1519. Here is the statute.
18 U.S. Code § 1519.Destruction, alteration, or falsification of records in Federal investigations and bankruptcy
Whoever knowingly alters, destroys, mutilates, conceals, covers up, falsifies, or makes a false entry in any record, document, or tangible object with the intent to impede, obstruct, or influence the investigation or proper administration of any matter within the jurisdiction of any department or agency of the United States or any case filed under title 11, or in relation to or contemplation of any such matter or case, shall be fined under this title, imprisoned not more than 20 years, or both.(Added Pub. Are democrats so stupid that they don’t know the law? Is everything they do reduced to political theater? SOTU, Constitutionally required, official report, you’re kidding?
On the other hand it could be arrogance. LBJ sold those dumb shits on the Great Society. This scam will be easy!
I won’t hold my breath waiting for an impeachment action or indictment. Everybody knows democrats can do no wrong.
