Serranus Hastings

The New York Slimes and assorted liberals make the case for renaming the Hastings School of Law, in California. It seems he might have, kinda sorta, maybe paid vigilantes to slaughter Indians and other folks he disagreed with. Sounds like he would get along just fine in today’s liberal circles.

In 2020, after studying the matter for three years, a commission established by the Hastings College of the Law confirmed that Serranus Hastings founder had managed a forced labor camp, organized murderous “Indian hunts”, and otherwise participated actively in the genocide that killed most of the Native American population of Mendocino County, California. However, the commission, led by chancellor David L. Faigman, recommended against a proposal to rename the school.[22][23]

New York Times,

I don’t know why the New York Times is so upset. Substitute anti-vaxers for Indians and that paragraph would mirror the current editorial stance of the Slimes. At any rate you can be sure that the liberals and the Slimes have left no stone unturned in exposing all there is to know about Serranus Hastings. Oh wait. What is under that rock? You guessed it!

In 1846, Hastings was nominated to represent Iowa at large in the United States House of Representatives as a Democrat.

Somehow that fact didn’t make it into the Slimes story. Serranus Hastings embodied democratic party values then and those values have withstood the test of time. Historically, democrats have a long been on the wrong side of history from reconstruction, to the Indian wars to Jim Crow. The tradition continues.
