Psychopaths  on screen are a staple of Hollywood.  According to Chris Weller of “Tech Insider” by way of “Business Insider”.  Movies are replete with psychopaths of every sex, race and inclination. Ask anybody to identify a movie psychopath and chances are you will get an answer.

Chances are the answer will be wrong. So much of what people know about psychopaths “Hollywood Style” is wrong.  In 2014 a Belgian psychology professor recruited ten friends to watch over four hundred movies to identify the psychopaths within. Many of the classics; Hannibal Lector, Norman Bates and Gordon Gekko are not psychopaths.  They may demonstrate some traits but fall outside the classic definition.

What difference does it make?  The average American is bombarded with stories on the news, in TV Shows, at the movies, and in novels and magazines with crime and criminals. Based on their experience across the communications spectrum, people are liable to base their judgments upon what they now rather that the facts specific to the situation. So much of what we know is wrong.

The story does nothing to put the psychopath on the only workable scale available in American criminal justice.  Is it insanity or not?
