A friend sent the following link More Bike Thieves.  The video makers have installed an airbag onto a bicycle seat that can be remotely detonated.  They then leave the bicycle unattended in a park and wait for somebody to steal it.  This takes place in the Morrison Gardens area of Los Angeles, north of the 101.  Sherman Oaks is to the south and North Hollywood to the north. I’m not really familiar with LA but I don’t believe this a particularly impoverished area.

All of the thieves are black males and they appear to range in age from early 20’s to mid 50’s. As they attempt to ride off the airbag detonates which apparently really rattles their balls.  Several hobble off holding their”package”.  Interestingly two of the thieves appear to be irate because they were prevented from completing their theft.

Here’s a thought guys, next time use a bear trap instead of an air bag.

Watch the video the bicycle, other than the facts it exists, has no influence over the suspect’s decision to steal.  In fact, it’s not much of a bike at all, no titanium frame, or racing paraphernalia. The point is that every one of these guys is a thief, they were a thief yesterday, today and will be tomorrow. Criminal behavior and criminals are self selecting, they are all volunteers.

This isn’t Watts.  It is a racially and economically mixed area.  All of the thieves are black males.  Do you really want to make the argument that all of the hispanic, asian and white bicycle thieves were at work and unavailable?

Seems racist to me, to go through life believing that because one is a black male, he is entitled to steal anything that isn’t nailed down without consequence.

It is said after WWI Great Britain lost an entire generation of young men, who never came home. That loss had a profound effect on English society.

Due to LBJ we have lost two, working on three generations of black men. Unfortunately, they never left home. They are still among us lying, cheating, stealing robbing, raping and dealing dope.  Even scarier, they are honored for their efforts in the black community.
