Rhode Island Police to Hunt Down New Yorkers Seeking Refuge

I guess I’m being cynical but the time to hunt down New Yorkers and send them back to New York was about fifty years ago. The damage they have done to Florida and other states is obvious.

Fifty years may seem arbitrary, but it is a fair estimate. I had relatives that lived in New York City. Actually that is not quite true. They lived in “THE CITY.” New York was the only place that qualified, in their mind. Therefore it wasn’t necessary to specify which city. There is only one.

This attitude gave rise to to the conviction that if one left the confines of THE CITY it was likely that you would fall off the edge of the earth.

Okay, maybe travel to Secaucus, New Jersey was safe. The mob needed somewhere to hide bodies.

The American decline began when New Yorkers discovered Miami Beach and then Las Vegas. The epidemic could have been controlled, even then. But when the locals weren’t paying attention. Some New Yorkers undermined local cultural norms. They opened deli’s and Italian restaurants. From that point on it was all downhill.

It is easy to identify a New Yorker. Just look for the arrogant swagger, with nothing to back it up.
