If I recall correctly, it was Blow Job Bill, the serial rapist and now former president who mounted a novel defense. It was widely accepted by democrats, at the time. Blow Job Bill and his apologists claimed that it was impossible to tell ahead of time that any sex act, no matter how deviant, was inappropriate when the target was a female democratic party operative.
