Tamir Rice Shooting Administrative Charges, Two Years Later (UPDATE)

May 30, 2017, As I predicted, Garmback, the driver, received a ten-day suspension for violation of department policy regarding tactics. Driving into the situation is never smart. Loehmann was fired for lying on his application. He was released from probation at a previous department and did not state that on his application. Cleveland-fires-1-officer-suspends-2nd-in-Rice

City_Officials_bring_internal charges in Tamir Rice shooting. None of the charges are criminal in nature and deal with violations of department policy and procedure. The City has already paid out 6 million in a settlement with the family.

It is early going and the specific charges have not been revealed. I expect the shooter Loehmann to be fired for lying on his original application to the police department. Garmback, the driver officer, was gigged for his driving. A third officer, Cunningham, was working an unauthorized extra job in the park at the tie of the shooting. Garmback and Cunningham will probably face a suspension  of their actions.

The real fireworks as far as specific acts of malfeasance was probably contained in the lawsuit and judgement, which I suspect were sealed. Better late than never
