I conducted a lot of interviews and interrogations when I was a cop. One of the tricks of the trade was to try and establish a baseline for the person being interviewed. For instance, I would ask a suspect why somebody (and who) would make an accusation against them. People who had nothing to hide were typically confused by the question. Those that had something to hide usually came up with an elaborate answer as to why that lying SOB would say something. A follow up question would be to solicit an opinion as to what should happen to a person so accused. The death penalty was often brought up as an option by those uninvolved in criminal activity. A crook would usually argue for understanding and little or no punishment. I called it the “there but for the grace of God go I,” syndrome.

It is almost obligatory for the MSM to interview family and friends of the accused about that person’s reputation. Here is an example.

The Griffin family moved out in 2017 and was “very well-connected and on every local board,” she said. There was a constant stream of people in and out of their house, including nannies and cleaners. She went over there for drinks once, and said they seemed “perfectly normal.”

Invariably the content of the comments indicate that the accused was a great guy. Step back, one way or another these folks are peers and part of the bad guy’s support system. What is that old saying, “Birds of a feather flock together.”

Somebody screwed up and interviewed a person outside of Griffin’s support system.

“I don’t like the guy,” he said. “He just rubbed me the wrong way.”

I figure the boatyard guy got it right. So, what?

Griffin is an accused pedophile. He is also a TV producer for CNN. He is buddies and coworker with a talking head, Cuomo, who just got fired for sexual harassment. He also manipulated facts to fabricate stories in favor of his brother. What are the chances that either one of these clowns or the network that they thrived in has done an unbiased story regarding sexual assault, pedophilia, or political corruption?
