Not Quite Right

Los Angeles is slated to spend over 1 billion dollars on homeless leaches. They have created an all expenses, three hots and a cot campground that costs the taxpayers over $2600 per camper. Remember the good old days when most urban dwellers only had to complain about pigeons? I can sum what is going on in one word: Tammany Hall. OK, you got me that is two words.

Those who don’t remember history are doomed to repeat it. Or as Mark Twain put it.

The past may not repeat itself, but it sure does rhyme -Mark Twain

The current homeless, climate change, Chinese Flu, and RACISM crisis have nothing to do with identifying and solving a problem. Proponents took a page out of the Tammany Hall playbook. Tammany Hall was all about using other people’s money to exert control. The control came in the form of jobs and public works projects paid for by the extorted funds. When a nice Italian boy demands money it is called extortion. It is a crime. When a politician does it, it is called taxes. It is for a noble cause.

Obviously a patch of ground, soup kitchen meals and a port-a-potty doesn’t cost $2600 per person. Most of the cost pays for the legions of sociologists, urban planners, psychologists, counselors, and advocates who would otherwise be unemployed. Once these folks get on the government tit they are set for life. They will never have to work a day ever again.

The object isn’t to end homelessness but to perpetuate it. Remember the varmint trapper of yesteryear. They were so successful at protecting the herd that the wolves they trapped were placed on endangered lists and then protected. The trappers were then out of a job.
