Nomination for Hero Badge

A transgender Police Officer was banned from participating in an event he/she helped plan, by the participants. They didn’t want to be associated with cops.

News/nation-world/national/article117167388.htmlThere is just so much fun to be had with this article. Understand, the department has no problems with the officer. He/she volunteered and was assigned to the project from the get go. The main objection to the officer comes from the gay community.

This officer now finds that he/she is caught between two communities and not fully accepted by either. Chances are that officers that worked with him/her have accepted the situation and may even be supportive. Those that see just a concept have probably not come around and won’t. At the same time, there is probably no overt hostility directed towards the officer.

Officer Christine Garcia, who transitioned last year, helped plan the event and was part of the Police Department security detail that watched over a commemorative march down University Avenue. After the march, when Garcia tried to enter the event as a member of the lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender community, she was asked to leave because her uniform could upset others in attendance. …

No, to get the overt hostility it is necessary to go to the gay community, who apparently refuse to accept this transgender person, because of his/her uniform, and occupation. Sure am glad liberals are here to show us the way.

I think that “transgender” is a manifestation of mental illness carried to the extreme when it leads to the hacking off of body parts. I could and would work with this officer. There would always be a reserve, that sooner rather than later he/she would fail to meet expectations, probably at a critical moment.

As to the he/she thing, you want to dress like Carmen Miranda, with a fruit basket on your head, then you’re Carmen Miranda. I’ll call you Carmen and darling, dear or sweetie right up until the time you stop cooperating then you’re back to plain old whatever your mamma called you. I want cooperation and I’m willing to pay the freight, but I’m not willing to fully enter your fantasy world.
