I was never a fan of the Sam Browne shoulder strap. In my circles, we referred to the shoulder strap as a “suicide strap.” In a physical confrontation, a suspect could grab on to the shoulder strap and use the leverage gained against the officer. However, this photo shows that there is indeed a practical use for the shoulder strap. Learn something new every day.
