Media Bias, Cowards and Liars

I sat down intending to set the media bias and lies of democrats regarding the “riots” in DC, but decided; why bother? According to the MSM and democrats one hundred plus days of attacks on Federal facilities in Portland are “mostly peaceful demonstrations. While one day of stupidity in D.C. (There is enough to go around to cover both sides) is a riot. What is the difference? I guess demonstrators must loot and burn in order to obtain the peaceful protest label. Conservatives who appeared in D.C. are accused of sedition. Liberals who actively damage property, order the police to stand down and cut law enforcement budgets are not.

Then I recalled a musical later made into a movie called “1776” It portrays the events in Congress leading up to the signing of the Declaration of Independence. As accurate history it is a failure. However, there are quotes attributed to various founding fathers, that if not uttered by them could have been.

These quotes attributed to Franklin, but not part of the historical record. The quotes goes a long way towards explaining MSM and liberal rhetoric. The actions of ANTIFA?BLM are supported by the press and liberals and given a veil of legitimacy.

A rebellion is always legal in the first person, such as “our rebellion.” It is only in the third person – “their rebellion” – that it becomes illegal.

Dr. Benjamin Franklin, 1776 Musical

Treason is a charge invented by winners as an excuse for hanging the losers.

Citizens of Seattle, Portland, Minneapolis and other major cities have been plagued by ANTIFA and BLM. The peaceful protests have caused millions of dollars in property damage. The reaction of most in Congress has been, “Suck it up Buttercup!”

I have come to the conclusion that one useless man is called a disgrace; that two are called a law firm; and that three or more become a Congress!

John Adams, 1776 Musical

A second flood, a simple famine, plagues of locusts everywhere, or a cataclysmic earthquake, I’d accept with some despair. But no, You sent us Congress! Good God, Sir, was that fair?

John Adams, 1776 Musical

Then we have cowards like Rep. Markwayne Mullin (R-Okla) who witnessed the shooting of an unarmed woman and declared he was okay with that. Markwayne could be the poster child for why Republicans now find themselves outside looking in.

Rep. Markwayne Mullin, R-Okla., said he witnessed the moment a police officer shot a woman inside the U.S. Capitol on Wednesday and insisted the officer had no other choice.

Like I said there is more than enough blame to go around. Here is one Franklin quote from the musical “1776” that is historically correct. It holds true even more so today. Government is so much more intrusive now, than anything Benjamin Franklin could have imagined.
