The post implies that the circled officer is anxious to get some “stick time.” It appears that the officer can find his way around a weight pile. According to the commenter, the bent night stick is an indication of the force the officer is applying to the stick.

What liberals don’t know, they don’t know. The officer appears to be carrying a 36″ polycarbonate riot baton with a ball end. I checked police supply catalogs and could not find a riot baton with a ball end for sale. Current thinking is that the metal ball end on the baton is not kinder and gentler and therefore no longer offered. In my day the metal ball was referred to as a “rib spreader”.

This means that the baton has been in the inventory for a long time. It also appears that the baton is composed of polycarbonate. I can testify that a polycarbonate nightstick placed in a patrol car in August will soon bend on its own accord.
