It’s a Start!

The San Antonio City council just approved change in policy for the dog pound. Animals taken into custody are subject to mandatory neutering prior to release. The Bexar County Sheriff recently dipped his toe into the mandatory medical treatment waters as a condition for admission to the county jail. Here is a golden opportunity to expand the concept.

The Sheriff in Bexar County made his bones at SAPD as a fulltime media whore also known as a Public Information Officer (PIO). Here is a chance for the Sheriff to score a big-time media sensation.

Forced sterilizations of all inmates entering the Bexar County jail. It’s not a big step. Currently, many inmates are equipped with a collar when they leave the jail. Okay, it’s an ankle monitor, but the effect is the same.

Only downside I see is that the current jail uniforms maybe a little baggy for those inmates making a return trip.

Great ideas sometimes meet resistance when first proposed.
