South Carolina executed a murderer on Friday. Ho-hum. What makes this particularly newsworthy that he was executed by firing squad, Four ,30 caliber rounds in the chest were sufficient for the purpose. South Carolina’s Department of Corrections offered no other information as to the type of weapon.
I don’t really care what they used. I will admit that it would appeal to my sense of irony if turned out that the rifle used fell into that class of weapons commonly referred to as varmint rifles.
